Crime And Nuisance Action Team

Last Updated: 17 August 2010

Oxford City Council has been tackling anti-social behaviour effectively since the establishment of the Crime & Nuisance Action Team (“CANAcT”) in 2001.

CANAcT deals largely with community based anti-social behaviour, such as:

  • Actively tackle anti-social behaviour, whether it is nuisance neighbours or street drinkers that cause harassment and distress to people

  • Offer support to people who are victims and witnesses of anti-social behaviour, including supporting victims and witnesses through the Court service

  • Working with partner agencies to support and break the cycle of anti-social behaviour with the perpetrators.
