Burglary of people's homes

Last updated: 08 February 2008

Burglary is covered by the Theft Act 1968, Section 9 (1,2).  The term "Burglary" covers a wide range of offences characterised by the type of property attacked.  This includes whether the offender attempts to steal anything in the building, harms the victim and the offender's modus operandi.

In Oxford, burglary rates have been dropping for some time thanks to a wide-ranging approach to tackling the problem.

However, when you are a victim of a burglary it can have a devastating effect on your life and health.

Below are links that provide information about burglary, how we have been reducing the number of burglaries in Oxford, and crime statistics.
