Car crime

Last updated: 16 October 2009

Car crime is the theft of or from a motor vehicle, interfering with or damaging a vehicle.

Since OSCP was established, there has been a steady year on year decline in the number of car crime offences occurring in Oxford.

In 1998/99 there were 6,025 car crime offences in Oxford.  In 2008/09 this had decreased to 1,866 offences; a reduction of 69%.

Most vehicle crime is opportunistic and therefore preventable. However, it is still a priority for OSCP and its partners.

Below are links that provide information about car and cycle crime, the work of OSCP on reducing car crime and other useful information.
