Drug & Alcohol Abuse

Drug dealing and its effects are a concern for many of Oxford's Neighbourhood Action Groups (NAGs). However, the results of the 2011 Community Safety Talkback survey showed only only 16% of respondents believed that people dealing or using drugs had got worse in therir area, compared to 24% in previous year..

OSCP work with agencies to tackle drugs, under Thames Valley Police's Operation Falcon. OSCP has also funded Action Days in many of our neighbourhoods to raise awareness of drug abuse and dealing and has developed and applied its Drug House Protocol to close premises that are being used by people who use Class A drugs.

Oxfordshire's Drug and Alcohol Action Team (DAAT) commission drug and alcohol support across the county for young people, adults and people affected by someone else’s drug or alcohol use. Services range from needle exchange in pharmacies, to one to one structured support, drop-ins, medical detox and counselling.
