Tackling Domestic Abuse

Last updated: 07 February 2008

OSCP is a partner of the Oxfordshire Domestic Violence Steering Group (ODVSG).

The Group was set up in response to the need to coordinate services across the whole county.  Survivors may present to any agency within the county and it became apparent that there was little consistency in and knowledge of the services available.  Membership of the group includes Oxford City Council's Domestic Violence Co-ordinator, Community Safety Officers from across the county, the Police, Primary Care Trust, John Radcliffe hospital and key voluntary services.

The work programme for the ODVSG is centred around a Champions scheme, that identifies and trains key employees on domestic violence issues, who then become the point of reference for all employees in the organisation, department, etc.
