Young People

Positive Futures Programme

Oxford City Council runs a Positive Futures Programme of activities targeted at vulnerable young people between the ages of 13-19.

The team runs a broad programme of holiday activities across a number of estates and other parts of the city, targeted at deprived young people. The activities are free to access, or have a minimal cost. The programme has been running for five years. In 2011/12, approximately 1300 young people attended one or more of the activities provided.

Positive Futures also runs a number of targeted projects - for example against knife crime, with girls, with NEETs (young people not in education, employment or training) and with young people who could be drawn into offending.
